National Threatened Species Day
Brisbane's Queen Street Mall became a media frenzy when Jaya and Ndari, two 12 week old Sumatran Tigers, teamed up with Australian Bilbies on Friday 5th September.

The cubs became champions for National Threatened Species Day and mesmerised crowds as they were let out to play from their home at Dreamworld.
It is important to recognise Australia's own threatened species and these little tigers (their own species at extreme risk of extinction), helped enormously.
It has been a dream for many years, of Frank Manthey's, (Co-founder of Save the Bilby Fund) to have a combined event featuring many different zoos and animal parks to raise community awareness for National Threatened Species Day. This year, that dream came to fruition.
Next year, Frank hopes to also hold events in Sydney and Melbourne.
National Threatened Species Day is celebrated every year on September 7, the day the last Tasmanian tiger died.
Planet Press are proud of our association with Save the Bilby Fund and their efforts to help conserve Australian wildlife. We urge you all to consider the conservation of our unqiue animals and the habitat that they need to survive.
