Planet Press Awarded Runner Up At Keep Australia Beautiful Sustainable Cities Awards for Sustainable Business Category

Russell Marsh, Managing Director and Joanne Johnstone, Design & Marketing Manager representing Planet Press, accepted the award for Runner-Up Sustainable Business from John Costely, Yennora Location Manager Alcoa.

Planet Press awarded Runner Up in the Sustainable Business Category at the Keep Australia Beautiful Sustainable Cities Awards held on 13 August 2009.

This prestigious award is very satisfying, and recognises the significant efforts that Planet Press and EnviroPrint have made.

We thank all of our employees, suppliers and friends for their ongoing assistance in supporting our environmental initiatives and work practices.

Keep Australia Beautiful NSW Sustainable Cities is the leading environmental and community awards program for NSW urban communities.

The Sustainable Business Award recognises sustainable business practices, including a commitment to recycling, positive environmental outcomes, effective plans and strategies and strong community links.

Planet's enthusiastic, next generation management team are dedicated to providing our customers with the finest we can offer: including value-added product and swift turn-around times. Over the years we have become one of Sydney's most respected, progressive and reliable print manufacturers.

In general, the print industry has developed environmental improvements that many other industries are yet to achieve. Planet Press has (we believe) progressed significantly above most print suppliers. We offer genuine commitment to sustainable business practices including recycling, waste minimisation and technology improvements. Our work practices offer various strategies to reduce our environmental footprint, and that of our customers. Plus, the majority of our finished products are recyclable.

In addition, and most importantly, our innovative EnviroPrint program provides valuable assistance and resources to Australian environmental groups and charities to aid community education and build networks with like-minded organisations.

EnviroPrint is growing! In the last 12 months we have produced almost half the number of projects that we did in the first three years. Our total number of mature forest trees saved is now calculated to have saved 14,940 kg CO2 from entering the atmosphere, which has a direct influence on climate change.

The Keep Australia Beautiful Sustainable Cities program recognises outstanding environmental initiatives implemented by local government authorities, schools, businesses and community groups, whilst raising awareness of a range of environmental issues affecting metropolitan NSW.
