Planet Press Announce Decision to use Australian Made Papers and Boards for all Digital Print Projects

The benefits of keeping Australians employed are obvious, but we're also keen to minimise our environmental impact. Shortening the distance from paper suppliers to our premises also reduces the amount of fuel required for freight, which has a direct impact on climate change by reducing carbon emissions.

From Australia Day 2009, Planet Press will provide all digitally printed projects on Australian made coated papers and boards (unless specifically requested alternate stocks are required). All pricing remains consistent with our previously offered stocks, which is great news! But that's not the best bit...

ENVI - Australia's first carbon neutral paper

Based on historical figures, we anticipate that approximately 65% of our digital print projects will now be printed onto Australian made carbon neutral paper. Planet anticipates a fantastic benefit to the environment through our switch to ENVI, and invite you to find out about the benefits to you and your organisation.

ENVI is genuine 100% carbon neutral, accredited by the Australian Government Department of Climate Change. Plus, following request and approval, Greenhouse Friendly accreditation permits use of the Greenhouse Friendly Consumer logo, by ENVI adopters, on any item printed on ENVI paper. Waterfall Springs would like to share the fantastic news of their successful funding grant of $98,000 from the NSW State Government Environment Trust Restoration and Rehabilitation Program.

The money is for capital works to build 12 new rock-wallaby enclosures with feed stations and servicing power that will enable them to expand their Endangered Brush-tailed Rock-wallaby Breeding Program currently operating at capacity.

With these additional enclosures, Waterfall Springs will be able to recruit new breeding stock and increase breeding output by 50% - accelerating the process of generating and sustaining a genetically healthy captive population of Brush-tailed Rock-wallabies to meet the required targets to commence a sustainable reintroduction program.

Whilst this news is very exciting, managing these new facilities will put extra pressure on their already stretched Animal Management, Maintenance and Administration resources.

Get involved and become a Waterfall Springs member, make a donation or adopt your own wallaby online!
