Thanks to all our customers for their support during 2012. It was great to see so many of you enjoy our annual celebration onboard the Supercat this year at our FUN TIMES CRUISE!
Sydney Harbour turned on the charm and the cruise weather was perfect. We all enjoyed ourselves with fancy dress, dancing, eating, merriment and refined our Finger Twister skills.
Thank you to our many staff members who "worked" well into the evening.... going above and beyond all expectations! Planet's people are what makes us unique and enjoyable to deal with.
Best wishes for a fantastic Christmas and a safe and happy New Year... from all of us to all of you!

Sydney children's hospice Bear Cottage treated by a special visit from the Easter Bilby!
Australia has some incredibly amazing people who work tirelessly to benefit others. Although facing over-whelming challenges, their passion is inspirational, uplifting and worthy of our acknowledgment and support.
Save The Bilby Fund; Kids With Cancer Foundation (Australia), and Bear Cottage (an initiative of the Children's Hospital at Westmead), with the support of Featherdale Wildlife Park, Planet Press and EnviroPrint Australia teamed up to provide a wonderful life experience for some children and families who are facing the most difficult challenge of all - to care for a child who has a life-limiting illness.
"Getting in to Bear Cottage was a good experience for me, and these sort of visits always help me to put things in proper perspective, our children are the most precious thing," says Peter Bodman of Kids With Cancer Foundation Austraia." It was great to have Frank's Bilby and the Swamp Wallaby from Featherdale there, so thanks to all.
I sat down afterwards with the Nurse Manager and discussed how we as Kids with Cancer Foundation could maybe help Bear Cottage and she told me their most pressing need was for a full time social worker to help the families and kids who spend time there. I couldn't see them go without, so I said we would provide the funding to employ a social worker there for a minimum 3 years. This will make the 4th continuous social work position (since 2003) that we do and will take our total donations to hospitals and families to over $13 million before the end of 2011." Planet Press congratulate this generous offer and encourage everyone to help these organisations in their fundraising activities.
Easter Bilby Ears at the Sydney Show
Planet's support of Save The Bilby Fund continues. This Easter through EnviroPrint donation, we again produced cut out Bilby Ears as a children's activity and give away at the Sydney Royal Easter Show.
Thankyou Erica who helped by cutting out the ears for the eager kids to wear. and the team from Featherdale Wildlife Park who also support Save the Bilby Fund each year at the show. EnviroPrint Bilby Ears and other children's activity sheets are available for purchase at very economical rates through EnviroPrint's online ordering.
The Sydney Show is a great way for people to see a live endangered bilby up close, as this opportunity is something that millions of Australians will unfortunately miss out on.

Jessica Watson meets Jessica Bilby, and joins the fight to Save The Bilby
A baby bilby born in Ipswich was named after one of Australia’s most inspiring young achievers, solo around the world sailor and 2011 Young Australian of the Year, Jessica Watson. (Photo: Lyle Radford)
At age 16, Jessica Watson, was the youngest person to sail around the world non-stop and unassisted. During her adventure she bravely and confidently faced challenges that most people would wish to avoid, and in doing so inspired us all. This Bilby was named in recognition of the amazing achievements of Jessica Watson. "We have great dreams for this little Bilby and hope that her 'true spirit' will be as strong her namesake’s", says Frank Manthey Co-founder of Save The Bilby Fund.

Sponsors Face The Challenge!
Australia is lucky to have some of the
most beautiful and unique creatures in the world. All living
things - plants and animals (including people), are part of a
complex delicately balanced network called the biosphere. The
removal of a single species can set off a chain reaction affecting
many others. The full significance of extinction on the world
is difficult to predict, but it affects us all. Extinction is
no longer a "natural" process, most often it is a
direct result of human activity. Every creature has a right to
exist. Our challenge is to make sure they do.
For two months during July and August our Australian school children will be asked to participate in
an educational nationwide competition. Please encourage your
children and school to enter Save The Bilby Fund's Threatened Animals Crossword
Competition.
Planet's Biggest Morning Tea
On Thursday 27 May, thanks to Kristy Muxlow, Planet hosted our first morning tea in the fight against cancer. Our fabulous staff raised almost $400 in support of the Cancer Council.

Planet Press Announce Shareholder Change
Following years of planning, mentoring and implementation, the succession plan for management change at Planet Press has been realised. On 15 July 2009, Syd Gould and family retired from the business, selling their shares to long term partner Colin Marsh, and Managing Director of 9 years, Russell Marsh who are now equal partners. This transition of ownership is seamless with no changes in key personnel. We thank the Gould family for their support over our many years together and look to the future with renewed vigour and a vision for continued success!

Planet Press Celebrates 50th Year in Business, 1958-2008
Since 1958, Planet Press has continued to provide high quality product to Australian businesses. Over the years we’ve demonstrated consistently strong growth to become one of Sydney’s most progressive, respected, diverse and reliable print manufacturers.
Industry change since inception has been nothing less than phenomenal. Syd Gould originally formed the basis of the company in 1958. The following year Col Marsh was hired, and as partners these men, with the help of many, many others have worked to develop Planet Press. Russell Marsh today heads the businesses as Managing Director.
Planet’s continuing success is due to the dedication, skill and love for the industry and the company, by teams of people who have worked here in the past, and those who are working here today. We thank everyone for their assistance in our progression. To celebrate, current employees, along with some important past employees and guests were invited to party!

Planet Press Feature on SCOPE -
Channel Ten’s Afternoon Science Show
Aired on television on Monday 23rd July 2007 at 4.00pm this episode of Scope featured Famous Inventors. Planet Press was lucky to be approached by Network Ten and Peter Marsh was volunteered to act as the presenter.
Explaining how the printing press works, the segment also highlighted the importance of printing as an invention. Filmed on site at Planet Press, various departments were displayed to demonstrate how offset printing works today, from design, to pre-press and the printing machine.
This was an unusual opportunity for our business, and we thank all of our staff who assisted in the filming, some of whom made their Australian television debut.
Planet Press Fighting Climate Change with Greening Australia
On Thursday 15 March 2007, Planet Press was represented by 9 people who took part in a hands on planting project in Western Sydney. The old grazing property has been selected as part of Greening Australia’s River Recovery project. Greening Australia works in partnership with landholders, the community, government and business to tackle environmental degradation in a practical, apolitical, scientific way.
Working with the other corporate volunteers and Greening Australia’s teams we numbered about 120 people, and in just one morning we planted over 6,000 trees! 20 trees can absorb the yearly emissions of a family car, with 50 trees absorbing the entire annual green house gas emission for an entire family!
