"Artwork files are often too large to email, so why not use our FTP server to transfer large files"
Digital File Specifications
Before sending Planet your digital artwork files, please review our digital file specifications. If you are unsure about the
specifications please do not hesitate to contact our pre-press department prior to sending your file, our operators are
glad to help. At the time of quotation Planet Press assume that the digital files to be supplied are correctly prepared
and 100% ready to run. High resolution, print ready PDF, minimum resolution of 300dpi, CMYK with bleed and trims is preferred. Additional charges may be incurred if corrections or amendments to the files are necessary.
Planet accepts files via DVD, CD, YouSendit, FTP or email. Large files should be compressed to minimise file size to reduce transfer times and avoid problems of data corruption. You may use Stuffit or Winzip compression software. Maximum size for email attachments is 10Mb.
FTP File Transfer
Files larger than 10Mb are preferred to be transferred via FTP to our server. Customers requiring a private login should contact their account manager for this to be arranged.
To access the Planet Guest FTP Server please use the following settings:
ftp://ftp.planetpress.com.au
Username: PlanetPress
Password: orbit
All users of this guest login have access to read and write files, but cannot delete them. Planet will delete the files when necessary.
NOTE: Users can drag and drop files into the FTP window if using Internet Explorers 6 or above. Mac users and older PC system users will need to use a FTP client software program to transfer files. There are various FTP client programs available for free download on the internet including:
MAC OSX: Cyberduck
